What is Picture-in-Picture?

Have you ever wished you could share your screen but still keep an eye on your attendees? Or maybe you’re multitasking across different tabs and want to see who’s joining your room without constantly switching back?

With GoBrunch’s Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature, you can do just that! This handy tool keeps you engaged and in control, making your virtual experience smoother and more productive.

How Does Picture-in-Picture Work?

Picture-in-Picture allows you to keep a floating, resizable video of your GoBrunch room open while you work on other tasks. Whether you’re presenting, taking notes, or switching between apps, you can always keep an eye on your session without losing focus.

Key Features:

  • View your attendees while sharing your screen.
  • Stay connected even when switching between tabs.
  • See who joins and interacts in real-time.
  • Identify active speakers with a yellow outline.
  • Resize and move the PiP window anywhere on your screen.

Use Cases for Picture-in-Picture

1. Sharing Your Screen While Seeing Attendees

When sharing your screen in GoBrunch, it’s easy to lose visibility of your audience. With PiP, you can:

  • See your shared tab, attendees, and screen share all at once.
  • Keep track of who's speaking – their video circle will have a yellow outline.
  • Stay engaged with presenter cams, including your own.

If you need to return to the main room, simply click the PiP square icon next to the mic, and you’ll be back instantly.

2. Multitasking with Tabs and External Apps

Need to work on PowerPoint, Google Docs, or another app while keeping an eye on your session? No problem!

  • You can switch between tabs and external apps without losing track of your attendees.
  • Greet new participants or monitor discussions while focusing on other tasks.

How to Keep PiP Active While Multitasking:

  1. Turn on your mic or camera before switching tabs.
  2. Once in another tab, you can turn off your mic or cam and PiP will still work.
  3. If using an external app (like PowerPoint), first enable your mic or camera, then switch to your app.

Important Things to Know

  • Works only on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (such as Edge and Brave).
  • Does not work on Firefox or Safari, as these browsers do not fully support PiP.
  • If PiP isn’t working, check your browser permissions and refresh the page.
  • Incognito mode is not supported, so use a regular browser window.
  • You can resize and move the PiP window anywhere on your screen for better visibility.

Try It Out!

Picture-in-Picture makes it easier to stay connected and interact with your audience. Try it in your next session and see how it enhances your experience!
