How to Control Cam, Mic and Resources from Attendees

Control Attendees’ Microphones Cameras and Permissions in GoBrunch

Managing a meeting can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you’re hosting multiple attendees. That’s why GoBrunch includes built-in tools that let you easily control microphones, cameras, and permissions for everyone in the room.

This guide will show you how to use these features step by step.

1. Why This Matters

When you’re leading a session, you may need to:

  • Prevent background noise from disrupting your meeting.

  • Limit who can appear on camera.

  • Allow only specific people to share their screen or speak.

  • Assign moderators to help manage the group.

GoBrunch makes this simple with flexible controls at both the group and individual level.

2. Accessing Attendee Controls

  1. Enter your meeting room in GoBrunch.

  2. Click on the Attendees panel.

  3. You’ll see a list of everyone currently in the room along with options to manage permissions.

3. Controlling Everyone at Once

From the Attendees panel, you can:

  • Disable All Cameras – Prevent everyone from turning on their camera.

  • Disable All Microphones – Mute all attendees at once.

You can toggle these options back on whenever you’re ready.

4. Managing Individual Permissions

If you want more fine-grained control:

  1. Open the Attendees list.

  2. Select an individual attendee.

  3. From here, you can:

    • Enable or disable their microphone.

    • Enable or disable their camera.

  4. If you want more control, click on Attendees then Individual Search
    • Allow or block them from sharing their screen.

    • Enable or disable chat permissions.

    • Promote them to Moderator (giving them the same controls as you).

    • Remove them from the room
    • Ban them from the room

Permissions are color-coded:

  • Green = Enabled

  • Red = Disabled

5. Removing or Banning a Participant

If someone is disruptive or shouldn’t be in the room:

  • Open the Attendees list.

  • Mouse over the icons next to their name.

    • Remove icon – Removes the person from the room, but they can rejoin later.

    • Ban icon – Removes the person and prevents them from entering the room again.

  • Make sure to select the correct icon depending on whether you want a temporary removal or a permanent ban.

6. Best Practices

  • Start with all mics muted in larger sessions to avoid background noise.

  • Promote a co-host as moderator to help manage participants.

  • Use individual controls if only one person is causing disruption.

  • Communicate changes clearly so participants know why their mic/cam was disabled.

7. Next Steps

With these attendee management tools, you can keep your meetings smooth, professional, and distraction-free.
